Hi Folks,
Please forgive this email, especially if you don't know me, but I hope you'll
appreciate the focus on gaining the mobile computer lab for our school.
Perhaps people have noticed that the site is slower in the early AM and faster
in
the evening. 'Assume the performance is due to higher web traffic in the morning
because the contest is nation-wide. If so, it's likely that the website will
perform slower during the last couple of days of the contest, presumably
when everyone will be trying to cram in their votes. Their server might
even crash if it becomes too overloaded.
That's only a guess, but if it turns out to be true, then getting in as many
votes as
possible this weekend, before the last couple of contest days, might be very
important.
By the way, although unconfirmed, I'm told that, unlike some other schools,
our school gets zero dollars from the district for computer/technology support.
And, we have now dropped to 3rd place.
